How to energize your brain at work…

When your mind dips in energy at work, your performance definitely takes a hit. You lose productivity and focus, and the quality of your work begins to suffer, which then takes even more time to have to go and re fix that.

Tasks you would normally finish quickly, seem to take forever and you read the same sentence multiple times without comprehending what it says… sound a bit like you? Well keep reading for some tips on how to avoid this!

  1. Get moving! Get up. Move around. Take the long way back to your office or area. Use the stairs. Park further away tto get you walking more and Use your legs, your feet, your heart rate. The more blood that pumps, the more oxygen reaches your brain which improves the sharpness of thought!

  2. The power of sleep! Lack of sleep introduces many negative side effects that can be consequential to the quality of productivity. Irritability, lack of appropriate response, headaches, muscle fatigue, brain fatigue, loss of memory. 8 hours is the recommended amount!

  3. Hydrate hydrate! Did you know that the brain is made up of 80% water! The brain is the control panel of our body, sending and receiving electrical signals through our nervous system, which is actually an elaborate system of tiny waterways, hence why we are always told to drink more and more water!

  4. De-clutter! Having an untidy desk and environment does not help the brain and demotivates you without you maybe even realising. Get rid of any unnecessary items on your desk and get organised! Perhaps with some of our ticklebrick products!

  5. Keep cool! Make sure you are not stuck in an overheated environment. Air con or a little fan for your desk is the way forward! simple cognitive tasks can be negatively affected by warm temperatures.
